The Zombie Apocalypse Survival Wheel is a small spin-to-survive game with
complete, trackable effects. Start with 100 HP, 100 Food, zero Defense tokens,
and zero Escape tokens. On Day 1, resolve ten spins. At the beginning of each
later day, subtract 50 Food, then resolve another ten spins. The run ends when
HP or Food reaches zero; otherwise, the score is the number of full days
survived.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Wheel rules

Write four totals on paper or in a note: HP, Food, Defense, and Escape. Read and
apply every result immediately. Food and HP cannot exceed 100, and tokens
cannot go below zero. If an event offers a token alternative, choose before
applying damage. A Walker costs 20 HP unless you spend one Defense token; a
Runner costs 30 HP unless you spend one Escape token.

The twelve events combine supplies, recovery, equipment, empty searches, and
hazards. Canned Food, Fresh Supplies, and Clean Water improve Food. Old Meat is
a risky trade: it restores 20 Food but costs 10 HP. Bandages and Safe Shelter
restore HP. A Flashlight grants an Escape token, while a Weapon Cache grants a
Defense token. An Empty Building changes nothing. Walkers, Runners, and Gas
Leaks create the main danger.

These effects are printed directly on the slices so a result never depends on
hidden notes. The rules are fictional game mechanics, not real emergency,
medical, food-safety, or disaster advice.

Play one day without losing track

Number the spins from 1 to 10. After each spin, say the event aloud and update
the totals before continuing. This prevents a later reward or hazard from
being applied to the wrong value. At the end of Spin 10, record the completed
day and current totals. If both HP and Food remain above zero, continue to the
next day and pay its 50-Food cost first.

If the 50-Food cost reduces Food to zero, the run ends before that day’s first
spin. A reward cannot rescue a run that has already ended. Likewise, HP damage
is resolved immediately. The player cannot wait to see the next result before
deciding whether to spend a token.

For two or more players, use separate stat sheets and take ten spins per player
per day. Everyone should use the same wheel and order of operations. A
cooperative variant can share Food while keeping HP and tokens separate, but
that is a house rule and should be written down before starting.

Adjust difficulty transparently

Every event has weight 1, giving supplies and hazards their visible share of
the wheel. To create an easier version, raise the weights of food and recovery
or reduce the daily Food cost. To create a harder version, raise hazard
weights, lower the 100-point caps, or begin with fewer supplies. Change one
variable at a time if players want scores that remain comparable.

Use the same ending rule for every run. A score should count only completed
days, with remaining HP, Food, and tokens used as tie-breakers in that order.
That avoids awarding a higher score simply because one player stopped in the
middle of a day with better-looking resources.

Leave elimination mode off. Events are meant to repeat, and removing a result
would change the probability distribution during a day. If you want a fixed
deck-like mode, turn elimination on only after agreeing that all twelve events
must occur once before the wheel is reset.

The Zombie Apocalypse Survival Wheel is most satisfying when rerolls are
not allowed and the state is visible. It turns each spin into a meaningful
resource decision instead of an isolated zombie-themed label. For a different
kind of undead challenge built around an existing video game, use the COD
