Twitch giveaway tool

Run a Twitch giveaway from chat to replay.

Connect Twitch, collect one keyword entry per viewer, lock the list, draw a signed winner, and put the same result in OBS.

OAuth tokens stay encrypted and server-side. GoSpinWheel never asks for your stream key.

Your first Twitch giveaway, step by step.

Complete these in order. The dashboard always shows the current state and the next available action.

  1. 1

    Connect Twitch

Authorize the requested chat scopes through Twitch OAuth.

  2. 2

    Create giveaway

Choose a title, chat keyword, winner message, and wheel style.

  3. 3

    Open entries

Collect one active entry per viewer; pause and resume without losing entries.

  4. 4

    Lock entries

Freeze the participant snapshot before winner selection.

  5. 5

    Draw winner

Store the signed receipt before publishing the winner or replay.

Before a real prize: run one private test with two accounts and open the signed replay after drawing.

Add the transparent overlay to OBS.

Canvas

Background

Transparent

  1. 1. Copy the overlay URL from the selected giveaway's OBS overlay section.
  2. 2. Add a Browser Source, paste the full URL, and use 1920 × 1080.
  3. 3. Leave custom CSS empty; transparency is already built into the overlay route.
  4. 4. Keep the private token fragment. Reset the token immediately if the URL is exposed.
OBS Browser Source documentation

If chat fails, do not redraw.

GoSpinWheel stores the signed winner before attempting the Twitch chat announcement. If chat delivery fails, the draw stays completed and the same winner can be announced again.

Duplicate Twitch EventSub message IDs are accepted only once.

Queue retries cannot add the same viewer twice to one giveaway.

A failed chat message exposes Retry Twitch announcement instead of redraw.

Resume draw reuses the stored idempotency key after an interrupted draw.

Reset overlay token invalidates every old OBS URL immediately.

OAuth connects—and disconnects—cleanly.

Connect Twitch through its authorization screen. GoSpinWheel validates the account and chat scopes, creates the EventSub subscription, and stores encrypted access and refresh tokens.

Disconnect removes the EventSub subscription, revokes the token, and deletes the giveaway-channel connection. Reconnecting starts a fresh authorization flow.

Twitch giveaway rules checklist

Publish the organizer, eligibility, prize, start and end time, exact entry keyword, selection method, claim deadline, redraw policy, and platform-not-sponsor disclosure before entries open.

If you use weights or bonus entries, disclose them clearly. Keep the final participant snapshot and signed replay with your event records. This guide is operational guidance, not legal advice.

Optional shortcut

Let AI prepare the fields after you understand the workflow.

Answer the event questions, then use the suggested keyword, winner message, OBS settings, and dry-run checklist.

You are my GoSpinWheel Twitch giveaway setup assistant. Never ask for or handle passwords, OAuth tokens, client secrets, stream keys, or overlay tokens.

First ask me for:
1. Prize, number of winners, and whether repeat winners are allowed
2. Eligible audience, regions, age limits, start/end time, and time zone
3. The Twitch chat keyword viewers will type
4. The winner announcement wording
5. The visual style and whether I use OBS
6. Claim deadline and redraw policy

Then produce:
- A concise Twitch giveaway rules checklist: organizer, eligibility, prize, timing, entry method, winner selection, claim deadline, redraw policy, and a platform-not-sponsor disclosure
- A GoSpinWheel configuration with an event title, one short keyword, and a winner message using both {winner} and {replay}
- The exact workflow: Connect Twitch → Create giveaway → Open entries → Pause/resume if needed → Lock entries → Draw winner → Retry announcement only if delivery failed
- OBS Browser Source instructions: copy the overlay URL, use 1920×1080, leave custom CSS empty, keep the #token fragment, and reset the token if the URL is exposed
- A dry-run checklist that verifies chat entry deduplication, pause/resume, locked entries, signed replay consistency, transparent OBS background, failed-message retry, OAuth disconnect, and old overlay-token rejection

Do not claim legal compliance. Tell me to check current Twitch rules and the laws that apply to the organizer, entrants, and prize.
