Random Pokemon Team Generator

This random Pokemon team generator is designed for building a six-Pokemon team without repeats. The wheel starts with 1025 species and uses elimination mode, so each result is removed after it lands. Spin six times and you have a complete draft team that can become a challenge run, battle prompt, art lineup, or party game result.

A team picker works best when it is transparent. Everyone can see the same wheel, the same list, and the same removal rule. That makes it easier to use for friend-group drafts, stream challenges, or casual tournaments where nobody wants to argue over who got the stronger choices.

How to draft a team

  1. Spin once for slot one and write down the result.
  2. Keep elimination mode on so that Pokemon cannot repeat.
  3. Spin until you have six results.
  4. Edit the wheel first if your rules ban legendaries, mythicals, duplicate types, or unavailable Pokemon.

Sample results from the full pool include Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise, Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Weedle, Kakuna. Because the list is broad, a team can land anywhere from a balanced group to a strange mix that forces creative movesets and role choices. That unpredictability is the point: the wheel gives you a starting constraint, then you decide how seriously to build around it.

Useful team formats

  • Fresh playthrough team: commit to the six results and build around them.
  • Draft league warm-up: use the wheel to create practice teams before a real draft.
  • Art team prompt: draw the full result as a trainer lineup.
  • Group challenge: each player spins six times, then compares teams.

If you want a narrower pool, start with a related page such as the random Gen 1 Pokemon generator, the random legendary Pokemon generator, or the random Pokemon type wheel.

Editing before you spin

The default list is intentionally complete, but your format may not be. Open Edit to remove Pokemon you cannot use, add weights for favorites, or hide entries that do not fit the session. Once the list is right, copy the URL so everyone can use the same team generator.

Team rules to decide before spinning

A random team feels better when the rules are set before the first spin. Decide whether unevolved Pokemon are allowed, whether alternate forms count as separate choices, and whether you want one starter, one legendary, or no special restrictions at all. Then spin six times with elimination mode on so each result becomes a unique team slot.

For casual play, you can accept awkward type overlap and treat it as the challenge. For a draft, you may want to remove Pokemon that your league bans or split the team into roles such as lead, defensive pivot, sweeper, and wildcard. For a story run, keep the full pool but allow one veto when a species cannot appear in the game you are playing. The point is to make a team you would actually try, not to reroll until it looks perfect.
