What is included in the FIFA National Team Picker?
The default wheel follows FIFA's Member Associations directory, checked on July 22, 2026. FIFA lists 211 affiliated associations across six confederations. The wheel uses FIFA's displayed English names, including Türkiye, China PR, IR Iran, Korea Republic, DPR Korea, Congo DR, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong, China.
This scope is broader than a World Cup wheel. It includes every current FIFA member association, not only teams qualified for the 2026 tournament, teams available in a particular video game, or teams appearing in the latest men's ranking. Northern Mariana Islands is not included because it is not one of FIFA's 211 member associations, even though it appeared as an extra slice in the competing wheel.
How to run a random national-team draw
For one match, spin once and accept the selected team. If two players need opponents, spin twice and turn on elimination mode after the first result so the same team cannot fill both places. For a group draft, write down the player order, enable elimination, and continue until every participant has a unique association.
Agree on rerolls before the first spin. A sensible rule is to allow a reroll only when the selected team is unavailable in the game or competition being used. Do not reroll merely because a team appears difficult; that changes a random challenge into an informal strength-based draft.
Build a smaller football country wheel
A complete 211-team pool is useful for global variety, but a narrower pool is often easier to play. Delete options to create a UEFA-only draw, an AFC challenge, an African national-team tournament, a South American matchup, an Oceania round, or a Concacaf session. You can also retain only teams available in your copy of EA Sports FC, eFootball, Football Manager, or another title.
Keep all retained teams at weight 1 when the goal is an equal draw. Weights are appropriate only when your stated format calls for seeding, regional quotas, or handicap odds. If you use weights, explain them to the group before the result appears.
For a balanced group activity, randomize the participants separately from the teams. Spin the association wheel once for each participant and remove every assigned result. That procedure prevents one person from being assigned twice and keeps the football pool independent from the participant order. If the number of players is smaller than the number of teams, stop after everyone has one recorded result.
FIFA membership, rankings, and tournament eligibility
Membership does not mean that every association has the same current ranking, qualification status, licensing, or game availability. FIFA rankings change, tournament fields are smaller, and commercial games may omit teams or use unlicensed names. The wheel deliberately does not infer strength or predict a result.
Russia remains in FIFA's public member-association directory, so it appears in the full membership pool. That inclusion is not a claim about eligibility for a particular competition. Check the organizer's current rules before using this wheel for a real tournament simulation.
